Job Card TSG A027 - 080/011 Error Trouble Shooting Chapter 9
1TOOLS
None
2 ROOT CAUSE
The error 080/011 only occurs during Generator Calibration when the X-ray Authorize signal from IDC is
either:
• dropped before the end of an exposure with an expected exposure time. In this case either the IDC
Hardware/Software is faulty or the RT Cable from the IDC to the Generator is faulty.
• dropped before the end of an exposure with an unexpectedly long exposure time due to the X-ray
Tube arching. In this case either the tube simply needs warming up due to a long period of inactivity
or is faulty.
3 RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Try taking an exposure and listen on the Generator as to whether X-ray Tube arching is occurring. If
during the exposure the high-tension noise from the Generator is not consistent and regularly
changes, then X-ray Tube arching is occurring.
2. View the error logs.
If 080/011 occurs in conjunction with E24 084/013 (RTL rises too late) or E24 079/014 (RTL drops
too early), then either the IDC Hardware/Software is faulty or the RT Cable from the IDC to the Gen-
erator (via the Gantry XJ5 bulkhead connection) is faulty. Contact your OLC for further trouble-shoot-
ing advice.
If 080/011 occurs during Generator Calibration, then the X-ray Tube is arching. Proceed as follows:
a. Perform Job Card CAL A007 - Automatic X-ray Tube Warm-Up on page 1661.
b. Take some exposures and listen on the Generator as to whether X-ray Tube arching is still occur-
ring.
c. If error 080/011 persists, perform Job Card CAL A003 - X-Ray Tube Focal Bias Voltage Scale
Factor on page 1655.
d. If error 080/011 persists, change the X-Ray Tube according to Job Card D/R A261 - X-ray Tube
Assembly on page 1353.
