7.8.2 Procedure during engine malfunctions
The displays when an engine malfunction occurs depend on:
– Whether an engine malfunction has occurred,
– Whether a severe engine malfunction has occurred.
Engine malfunction
The warning lamp (1) lights up.
Engine performance falls continuously.
• Drive on until you have a chance to stop.
• Stop immediately and switch the engine off.
• If necessary, note the error messages (à p. 7 - 36) and refer to
Manitowoc Crane Care
.
Severe engine malfunction
The STOP warning lamp (3) lights up.
In addition the following lamps light up:
– Lamps (1) and (2)
• Stop the truck crane immediately while taking into account the traffic sit-
uation.
• Switch off the engine.
• If necessary, note the error messages (à p. 7 - 36) and refer to
Manitowoc Crane Care
.
In the event of engine malfunctions, the electronic system will try to estab-
lish a secure operating condition with the remaining functions.

Risk of damage to the engine
Turn off the engine immediately after stopping the truck crane.
Do not by any means restart the engine. This will prevent serious damage
to the engine.
