10.1.6 Start the engine
Refer to the separate operating manual provided by the engine manufac-
turer for operating the engine. The engine can only be started if:
– The bridging plugs have been inserted in all carrier and superstructure
sockets for hand-held control;

– The lamp (1) has gone out (carrier ignition off).

This section pertains to starting a warm and cold engine.
• Do not press the accelerator.
• Turn the ignition key to position 2 and hold it there until the engine starts.
• Let go of the ignition key after the engine starts.
If the engine does not start, release the ignition key after about 15 seconds
and wait one minute before trying again.

You can also start the engine by pressing the button (1) down once with the
ignition turned on. After starting, the idling speed corresponds to the stand-
ard value. To set the idling speed;

Danger of explosion when using starter fuel
The engine may never be started with the aid of starter fuel. The starter fuel
sprayed into the suction unit can ignite.
