S fuel tank
Refer to “FUEL TANK”.
S front cowling inner panel (left and right)
Refer to “COWLINGS”.
S rider seat
Refer to “SEAT”.

CHECKING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM
The following procedure applies to all of the ex-
haust pipes and gaskets.
1. Remove:
S radiator
Refer to “RADIATOR” in chapter 6.
2. Check:
S exhaust pipe

S catalyst pipe
2
S muffler
3
Cracks/damage ! Replace.
S gasket
4
Exhaust gas leaks ! Replace.
3. Check:
S tightening torque
Exhaust pipe nut

20 Nm (2.0 mSkg, 15 ftSlb)
Catalyst joint bolt

20 Nm (2.0 mSkg, 15 ftSlb)
Muffler joint bolt

Muffler and muffler stay
8
20 Nm (2.0 mSkg, 15 ftSlb)
Exhaust pipe and exhaust pipe
stay

20 Nm (2.0 mSkg, 15 ftSlb)
Catalyst pipe and catalyst pipe
stay
10
20 Nm (2.0 mSkg, 15 ftSlb)
4. Install:
S radiator
Refer to “RADIATOR” in chapter 6.
