Aqueousassayedcontroluidsareavailableforverifyingtheintegrityofnewly
receivedCHEM8+ cartridges.i-STAT CHEM8+Level1, 2and3 Controlsare
formulatedatthreeclinicallyrelevantlevelswithknownconcentrationsof:
Sodium TCO
2
Glucose
Potassium BUN/Urea IonizedCalcium
Chloride Creatinine
Eachlevelofcontrolispackagedinaboxof10ampules.Controlsolutionsare
contained in 1.7 mL glass ampules.
The control solutions do not containhumanserumorserumproducts,butdo
contain buffers and preservatives.
Reactive Ingredients
Storage
Refrigeratedstorageat2to8°C(35to46°F)shouldbemaintaineduntilthe
printedexpirationdateontheboxandampulelabels.
Control solutions may also be stored at room temperature for up to 5 days (18
to30°Cor64to86°F).Prolongedstorageattemperaturesgreaterthan30°C
(86°F)maycausechangesinthevaluesofsomeanalytes.Donotusebeyond
theexpirationdateontheboxandampulelabels.
Best Results
For best results, ampules, cartridges and analyzer should be at the same
temperature.
Ampule Use
A separate ampule must be used for each cartridge being tested.
Donotusethesolutionleftinasyringe,ampuleorcapillarytubeforadditional
testing of cartridges.
