Precautions when using laser
equipment
The BMW DVD changer is officially desig-
nated a Class 1 laser product.
Do not remove the cover from the
housing. Never run the device if its
cover is damaged. Otherwise the invisible
laser beam could cause serious eye inju-
ries.
Repairs or maintenance work must only be
carried out by qualified service experts.

Copy protection
Macrovision copy protection:
This product contains copyright-
protected technology based on several
registered US patents. Copy-protection
technologies that are the intellectual prop-
erty of the Macrovision Corporation and
other manufacturers are also used. The use
of this copy protection requires the
approval of Macrovision. Unless otherwise
agreed with Macrovision, films/audio CDs
with this form of protection may only be
played in private.

CDs are often copy-protected by the
manufacturer to prevent pirate copies
from being made. Please note the informa-
tion supplied with these CDs. These CDs
differ from those produced according to
the CD Audio Norm Red Book, which
serves as the operating basis for all CD
players, changers and BMW DVD
changers. It may be the case that copy-
protected CDs cannot be played on your
DVD changer, or can only be played
subject to various limitations. In such
instances, please contact the CD vendor or
manufacturer.

Media formats supported
The DVD changer can play the following
formats:

Video DVD
>
CD-DA/audio CD
>
CD-R.
The DVD-audio format is not
supported by the DVD changer.
However, many conventional audio DVDs
include a video track in DVD video format
as well as the audio track. These DVDs can
be played on the DVD changer. Please
consult the information on your DVD to
establish whether your audio DVD has an
additional video track.

DVDs are usually subdivided into
titles and chapters, and may contain
various subtitles, camera angles or sound
tracks, languages and sound formats.
Depending on the DVD's type, these func-
tions can either be selected directly via the
DVD control options or only via the DVD-
specific menu. Please note the options in
the information on your DVD.

Installed position
The BMW DVD changer for 6 DVDs or
audio CDs is located at the rear left in the
luggage compartment.
