Multi-stage function

Activating the system
Push

or pull

the lever as far as the pres-
sure point. You can then use the cruise
control.
The car's current speed is simultaneously
maintained and memorised.
Do not use the cruise control on
twisting roads, in heavy traffic which
prevents a constant speed from being
maintained, or if the road surface is slippery
(snow, rain, ice) or loose (stones, sand).

De-activating the system
Whenever the ignition is switched off, the
system is de-activated and the speed
stored in the memory is deleted.
1 Maintaining and memorising
speed, accelerating
Press the lever forward as far as the pres-
sure point: the car's actual speed is main-
tained and memorised. Each time the lever
is moved again, the car's speed increases
by approx. 1 km/h (0.6 mph)
Press the lever for longer: the car acceler-
ates without the accelerator pedal being
touched. As soon as you release the lever,
the speed the car has reached will be main-
tained and memorised.
If engine braking alone is insufficient
on a downhill gradient, the desired
speed may be exceeded. It may also prove
impossible to maintain speed with the
available engine power on uphill gradi-
ents.

point: the car's actual speed is maintained
