Buttons on the steering wheel
Integrated into the steering wheel are
buttons to permit the following functions to
be performed quickly and without the
driver's attention being distracted from the
traffic:

The automatic transmission's Steptronic
>
Certain functions for audio sources
>
Certain telephone functions
>
The voice input system
>
Certain TV functions.
The systems in question must be
switched on before they can be
controlled from the steering wheel.

Telephone:
Receiving a call, starting dialling or termi-
nating a call.
Volume control
Voice input system:
Switching on and off
Forward/back:
>
Radio
Press briefly: station search on FM
Press for longer: station search
>
CD/MD
Press briefly: track search
Press for longer: searching within a track
>
Cassette
Press briefly: to skip a track or stop fast
movement
Press for longer: fast movement
>
TV
Selecting a programme
Can be freely assigned:
In the menu "Settings", you can select the
function of the button under the m enu item
"MFL", see page 50.
Steptronic:
Press briefly to change between the Auto-
matic program, Sport program and manual
operation, see page 63.
