steering manoeuvres. Change the wheel
with the damaged tyre.
The spare wheel supplied with your
car is equipped with the necessary
RDC electronics and is therefore also
monitored once fitted, after the system has
been initialised. Have your tyres changed
by BMW Service. BMW Service has the
necessary information and special tools for
maintenance of the RDC system.
<
Faults in the system
RDC's operation may be impaired by inter-
ference from other systems or devices
which use the same radio frequency.
While there is a fault in the system, the indi-
cator light symbol in the Check Control
comes on yellow and a message appears.
The same display appears
>
in the event of a system fault
>
if a wheel not equipped with RDC is
fitted to the car
>
if one or more wheels equipped with
RDC electronics are carried on the car in
addition to the spare wheel.
Observe the supplementary information in
the control display and contact BMW
Service.
Self-levelling suspension
*
In the event of a fault
If a Check Control message
appears in conjunction with this
symbol, there is a fault in the self-
levelling suspension. Observe the supple-
mentary information in the control display.
Stop the car and examine it. If the body is
distinctly lower at the back than at the front,
and possibly standing at an angle for
instance, lower at the left than at the right
take it to the nearest BMW Service. Drive
cautiously while the car is in this condition.
The car's ground clearance is reduced and
its ride comfort below the usual standard.
Even if the car appears to be at its normal
ride height and attitude, always take it to a
BMW Service if a malfunction is displayed.
