Removal and Replacement Procedures
Remove and Replace the Power Supply
The procedures for removing and replacing the power supply are identical for D2xx and D3xx models.
Refer to Figure 10-25.
Remove the Power Supply (D Class)
1. Disconnect all power cables from the System/Core I/O Board and peripheral devices (also
disconnect all power cables from the DC Converter Board if Dx70/Dx80).
2. Remove the SCSI cable from the EMI clip, located on the back of the removable media housing.
3. Remove the removable media housing sheetmetal cover from the back of the media housing.
4. Disconnect the power cables from the removable media devices.
5. Remove four (4) mounting screws on the rear of the chassis.
6. Lift the power supply out.
Replace the Power Supply (D Class)
1. Secure the power supply to the chassis using the four (4) mounting screws.
2. Reattach the power supply cables to their respective connectors on the peripherals and
System/Core I/O Board (also reattach all power supply cables to the DC Converter Board if
Dx70/Dx80).
3. Replace the removable media housing back cover.
4. Set the voltage switch to the appropriate setting for your area.
NOTE For D220/D230/D270/D280 systems that use the 450W or 650W power supplies, there
will be an extra power supply cable that does not connect to the D2xx system board.
This extra power supply cable is used on the D3xx system board (connector P12).
