Removal and Replacement Procedures
Remove and Replace the Rear Fan
Remove the Rear Fan
The rear fan (2) can be replaced as an assembly (fan plus mounting bracket) or just the fan alone.
Refer to Figure 10-26.
1. Remove the fan cable from the System/Core I/O Board.
2. Remove the retaining screws by backing the screws out half-way then remove the entire mounting
latch. You do not need to back out the screws all the way from the mounting latch.
3. Remove the fan.
Replace the Rear Fan
NOTE Make sure to install the fan with the arrow showing the direction of air flow. Air flow in
the chassis is from front to back. Do not install the fan backwards.
1. Align the fan with the proper holes in the chassis.
2. Insert the four rubber grommets.
3. Insert four screws and retainer clips.
4. Connect the fan cable to the System/Core I/O Board.
