3-18 Chapter 3
Troubleshooting
Dx50/Dx60/Dx70/Dx80/R380/D390/R3xx HPMCs
The HPMC example in Figure 3-3 shows an example of a CPU 0 error dump.
Figure 3-3 HPMC Error Information Example
------------- Processor 0 HPMC Information ---------------------------
Timestamp = Thu Jan 12 18:03:07 GMT 1995 (19:95:01:12:18:03:07)
HPMC Chassis Code = 0xcbf0 0x5002 0x7d08 0x7f00 0x5408 0x5502 0xcbfb
1. Initial status of HPMC processing; CBF0
2. HPMC type detected by the CPU reporting these codes; 2xyz (cache error) or 5x0n
(bus error), x = processor number (0 or 1).
3. HPMC type detected by Master Memory Controller; 7D0n
4. HPMC type detected by the I/O Adapter; 5x0n:
a. If x = 4, IOA associated with MFIOC devices and HSC cards not in turbo slot.
b. If x = 5, IOA associated with the turbo slot.
5. Final status of PDC HPMC processing; CBFx (Refer to Table 3-11.)
To check the chassis code, follow these steps:
1. Reset the system.
2. Stop the autoboot process if it is enabled.
3. From PDC service menu, enter the PIM command. Record or print the PIM report,
specifically timestamps, chassis codes, responder/requester addresses, I/O module
error log, and memory error log.
4. Refer to Table 3-11 for a description and action for each HPMC chassis code.
NOTE
Analyzing HPMC codes is a more complex and dynamic task than can be
covered here. Refer to the “HPMC Analyzers and Tools” Web site
(http://hprfes.rose.hp.com/fes/hpmc/intro.htm) for more detailed
information.
CBF0 HPMC occurred Normal HPMC handling process.
