SCSI Peripherals and I/O Information
Table 11-25 J2 Jumper Description
TE Meaning
On On board non-removable terminator circuits enabled.
Off Terminator circuits not enabled (Default setting).
DS ME Meaning
Off Off Spindle starts immediately after power up (Default
setting).
Off On Drive spindle does not start until Start Unit Command
received from host.
On Off Spindle startup is delayed by SCSI ID times 12 seconds
after power is applied.
On On Drive spindle starts when Start Unit command is
received from host. Delayed start feature is overridden
when the ME jumper is installed.
WP Meaning
On Entire drive is Write Protected.
Off Drive not Write Protected (Default setting).
PE Meaning
On Parity checking and parity error reporting by the drive is enabled (Default
setting).
Off Drive does not report results of parity checking to host.
SS Meaning
Off Reserved Jumper position.
