As shown in Figure 3-1, the power monitoring functionality resides on the System/Core
I/O card and interfaces to the Display Panel, power switch, and the system fans. The
Power Supply connects to the System/Core I/O Board. The System/Core I/O Board acts
as a backplane for distributing DC voltages to all PCAs that are installed in the system.
Power Supply
There are three different power supplies that come in the D Class systems. A 350 Watt
power supply comes with D Class modes D200, D210, D250, and D260. A 450 Watt
power supply comes with D Class models D220, D230, D310, D320, D330, D350, and
D360. A 650 Watt power supply comes with D Class models D270, D280, D370, D380,
R380, D390, and R390. For the 350W and 450W power supplies, you must set the power
supply voltage switch to the appropriate setting for your area. The 650W power supply is
an auto ranging supply, it has no power select switch. There are no test points or
adjustments on any of the Power Supplies. To fully remove power from the system, AC
power cord must be removed. The Power Supplies do not have a circuit breaker.
Power Monitoring
The System/Core I/O Board is responsible for monitoring internal temperature, all DC
voltages, system fan speed, and the power switch. The System/Core I/O Board is also
responsible for controlling fan speed, DC outputs, the Display Panel, and system resets.
