MAINTENANCE
ENGINE OIL CHANGE
Warm up the engine.
Stop the engine and remove the oil filler cap/dipstick [1].
Place an oil pan under the engine to catch the engine
oil, then remove the engine oil drain bolt [1]/sealing
washer [2].
Drain the engine oil completely.
Install a new sealing washer onto the drain bolt.
Apply engine oil to the drain bolt threads and seating
surface.
Install and tighten the drain bolt/sealing washer to the
specified torque.
Fill the engine with the recommended engine oil (page
3-12).
Install the oil filler cap/dipstick [1].
Check the engine oil level (page 3-12).
Make sure there are no oil leaks.
ENGINE OIL FILTER
Drain the engine oil (page 3-13).
Remove the oil filter cartridge [1] using the special tool.

TORQUE:30 N·m (3.1 kgf·m, 22 lbf·ft)

ENGINE OIL CAPACITY:
NC700X/XA/S/SA:
3.1 liters (3.3 US qt, 2.7 Imp qt) at draining
3.4 liters (3.6 US qt, 3.0 Imp qt) at oil filter change
3.7 liters (3.9 US qt, 3.3 Imp qt) at disassembly
NC700XD/SD:
3.2 liters (3.4 US qt, 2.8 Imp qt) at draining
3.4 liters (3.6 US qt, 3.0 Imp qt) at oil filter change
4.1 liters (4.3 US qt, 3.6 Imp qt) at disassembly
