PGM-FI SYSTEM
2. ECT Sensor Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the ECT sensor 2P connector [1].
Connect the ECT sensor 2P connector terminals at
the wire harness side with a jumper wire [2].
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Check the ECT sensor with the HDS pocket tester.
Is about 0 V indicated?
YES Inspect the ECT sensor (page 22-19).
NO GO TO STEP 3.
3. ECT Sensor Line Open Circuit Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Remove the jumper wire.
Disconnect the following:
ECM 33P (Black) connector (NC700X/XA/S/SA)
[1]
PCM 33P (Gray) connector (NC700XD/SD) [1]
Check for continuities between the ECM/PCM 33P
connector and ECT sensor 2P connector [2] of the
wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES Replace the ECM/PCM with a known good
one, and recheck.
NO Open circuit in the Pink/white wire
Open circuit in the Green/yellow wire
Connection: Pink/white – Green/yellow
