BATTERY/CHARGING SYSTEM
GROUND LINE INSPECTION
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the regulator/rectifier 2P (Black) connector
[1] (page 21-8).
Check for continuity between the regulator/rectifier 2P
(Black) connector at the wire side and ground.
There should be continuity at all times.
ALTERNATOR CHARGING COIL
CHARGING COIL INSPECTION
It is not necessary
to remove the stator
coil to make this
test.
Disconnect the alternator 3P (Black) connector [1]
(page 21-8).
Measure the resistance between the alternator 3P
(Black) connector each terminals at the wire side.
Check for continuity between the alternator 3P (Black)
connector [1] each terminals at the wire side and
ground.
Replace the stator if the resistance is out of
specification, or if any wire has continuity to ground.
For alternator/starter replacement (page 13-13).
CONNECTION: Green – Ground
CONNECTION: Yellow – Yellow
STANDARD: 0.1 – 0.5 (20°C/68°F)
CONNECTION: Yellow – Ground
STANDARD: No continuity
