In this example, event 1 has generated one log, which is triggered because the alarm value
(11779194) exceeds the rising threshold (10000000). The sampling type is absolute.
RMON configuration example
Network requirements
As shown in Figure 97, Agent is connected to a remote NMS across the Internet. Create an entry in the
RMON Ethernet statistics table to gather statistics on GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 with the sampling interval
being ten seconds, and perform corresponding configurations so that the system will log the event when
the number of bytes received on the interface more than 1000 or less than 100.

Configuration procedure
1. Configure RMON to gather statistics for interface GigabitEthernet 1/0/1:
a. Select Device > RMON from the navigation tree.
The Statistics tab page appears.
b. Click Add.
The page in Figure 98 appears.
c. Select GigabitEthernet1/0/1 from the Interface Name list, type user1 in the Owner field, and
click Apply.
