Syntax
ping host
Parameters
host: Specifies a destination IPv4 address (in dotted decimal notation) or host name (a string of 1 to 255
characters).
Description
Use ping to ping a specified destination.
To terminate a ping operation, press Ctrl+C.
Examples
# Ping IP address 1.1.2.2.
<Sysname> ping 1.1.2.2
PING 1.1.2.2: 56 data bytes, press CTRL_C to break
Reply from 1.1.2.2: bytes=56 Sequence=1 ttl=254 time=205 ms
Reply from 1.1.2.2: bytes=56 Sequence=2 ttl=254 time=1 ms
Reply from 1.1.2.2: bytes=56 Sequence=3 ttl=254 time=1 ms
Reply from 1.1.2.2: bytes=56 Sequence=4 ttl=254 time=1 ms

The output shows that IP address 1.1.2.2 is reachable and the echo replies are all returned from the
destination. The minimum, average, and maximum roundtrip intervals are 1 millisecond, 41 milliseconds,
and 205 milliseconds respectively.
ping ipv6
Syntax
ping ipv6 host
Parameters
host: Specifies a destination IPv6 address or host name, a string of 1 to 255 characters.
Description
Use ping ipv6 to ping a specified destination.
To terminate a ping operation, press Ctrl+C.
