below.
Whenever document and pa-
per dimensions are mentioned
in this manual, the value
shown as Y in the illustration
refers to the width, and the
value shown as X refers to the
length.
Lengthwise (w)
If the width (Y) of the paper is
shorter than the length (X), the
paper has a vertical or portrait
orientation, indicated by w.
Crosswise (v)
If the width (Y) of the paper is
longer than the length (X), the
paper has a horizontal or land-
scape orientation, indicated
by v.
