180 Power Monitoring and Power Management
• View power budget information for the server, including the minimum and
maximum potential power consumption. See "Viewing Power Budget."
• View power budget threshold for the server. See "Power Budget Threshold."
• Execute power control operations on the server (for example, power on,
power off, system reset, power cycle, and graceful shutdown). See
"Executing Power Control Operations on the Server."
Power Monitoring
iDRAC6 monitors the power consumption in PowerEdge servers continuously.
iDRAC6 calculates the following power values and provides the information
through its Web interface or RACADM CLI
:
• Cumulative System Power
• System Peak Power and System Peak Amperage
• Average, Minimum, and Maximum Power Consumption
• Power consumption (also shown in graphs in the Web interface)
• Max and Min Power Times
Viewing Power Monitoring
Using the Web Interface
To view the power monitoring data:

Log in to iDRAC6 Web interface.

In the system tree, select
Power Monitoring
.
The
Power Monitoring
screen appears, displaying the following information:
Power Monitoring
•
Status
: A
green check
indicates that the power status is normal,
Warning
indicates that a warning alert was issued, and
Severe
indicates a failure
alert was issued.
•
Probe Name
: Lists the name of the sensor.
•
Reading
: Indicates the wattage reported by the probe.
Amperage
•
Location
: System Board Current Monitor Current
