Configure the boot array
EMC CONFIDENTIAL
Using Unisphere
Note: If the array is using a FLARE version prior to Release 30, you must use Navisphere
Manager (not Unisphere). Appendix I, “Navisphere Manager procedures,”provides the
instructions for performing required tasks.
To verify the VNX cache settings by using Unisphere:
1. Right-click the array name on the main Unisphere page and select Properties.
2. Click the SP Memory tab. The dialog box shown in Figure 90 appears.

3. Verify memory is allocated to read cache and write cache. Figure 90 shows values
for read and write cache that may represent acceptable initial values for a system.
You may need to increase these values as the number of hosts and applications
grows.
Note: Do not change the cache settings of an existing array without the customer’s
permission.
Refer to VNX documentation for recommended read and write cache settings.
4. On the SP Cache tab, verify that the Read Cache and Write Cache checkboxes are
selected.
5. Go to “Step 5: Verify domain security is configured” on page 132.
