Create RAID group
for control LUNs
The VNX gateway system requires six LUNs for software and system data files. You
will create control LUNs on four unused disks. If you are adding the VNX gateway
system to an existing array that does not have unused disks, add disks or rearrange
existing LUNs to free up the disks.
To create control LUNs, first create a RAID group for the control LUNs by using one
of the following methods:
◆ “Unisphere” on page 239
◆ “Navisphere CLI” on page 239
Unisphere If you are using Unisphere, create a RAID group by following these steps:
1. From the main Unisphere page, select the storage array.
2. Select Storage > Storage Pools, then click the RAID groups tab.
3. Click the Create button. The Create Storage Pool dialog box appears.
4. Under the General tab, click the RAID Group radio button.
5. Create a new RAID group by using the settings in Table 9:
6. Click Apply.
Navisphere CLI If you are using Navisphere CLI to create a RAID group, enter the following
command:
Note: This example uses RAID group 0 and disks 0 through 3 on the first DAE. You can use any
RAID group ID and any four disks.
# navicli -h <SP_A_IP_address> createrg 0 0_0_0 0_0_1 0_0_2 0_0_3
