Prepare for Customer Data
The gateway system offers flexibility in managing network storage based on the
support environment and interface preferences. This section provides an overview of
the steps to configure a gateway by using the Unisphere Setup Celerra Wizard.
Before the system can be used by client systems to store data, you must create file
systems, shares, and exports. Depending on the customer’s environment, you also
might be required to create users and groups.
To prepare for customer data, run the setup wizard to configure Data Movers and
network services and to create file systems, CIFS servers, and shares. Finally, create
exports, netgroups, and users. The Setup Celerra Wizard automates these tasks.
This section covers the following topics:
◆ “The Setup Celerra wizard” on page 157
◆ “Prerequisites” on page 157
◆ “Log in to Unisphere” on page 158
◆ “Launch the Setup Celerra Wizard” on page 159
◆ “Create NFS exports” on page 160
◆ “Create netgroups” on page 161
◆ “Create users” on page 161
The Setup Celerra
wizard
The Setup Celerra Wizard in Unisphere leads you through most of the remaining
configuration tasks. These tasks include creating a CIFS server and CIFS share. The
wizard also allows you to perform the initial configuration of the Control Station and
the blades (Data Movers).
Additionally, the wizard enables you to manage your network, Windows, file
systems, and, if installed, iSCSI environments.
Use your service laptop or other computer connected to a network with connectivity
to the Control Station before beginning.
