Bind LUNs
If you are using Navisphere Manager, bind the LUNs as follows:
1. Using Navisphere Manager, expand the list under the array name, expand the list
under RAID Groups, right-click the RAID group you just created, and select
Bind LUN from the menu. Create two 11-gigabyte control LUNs using the
following settings:
RAID Type: RAID 5
RAID Group for new LUN: use the new RAID group ID
LUN ID: select the first available value
Element Size: 128
Rebuild Priority: ASAP
Verify Priority: ASAP
Enable Read Cache: Selected
Enable Write Cache: Selected
Enable Auto Assign: Unselected
Number of LUNs to Bind: 2
Default Owner: SP A
Alignment Offset: 0
LUN Size: 11 GB
2. Click Apply.
Note: You must create a larger LUN 5. The new LUN 5 must be 64-gigabytes.
All Control LUNs must be owned by SP A.
3. Repeat step 1 on page 307 to create three 2-gigabyte LUNs, changing only the
LUN Size and Number of LUNs to Bind values. All control LUNs must be
created in the same RAID group.
4. Repeat step 1 on page 307 to create a 64-gigabyte LUN, changing only the LUN
Size and Number of LUNs to Bind values. All control LUNs must be created in
the same RAID group.
Note: The remaining space in the RAID group may be bound as two user LUNs. See
Chapter 10, “Complete Phase 3 Installation.”. However, the RAID group that contains the
control LUNs must not be used by other hosts on the SAN.
Add control LUNs to
storage group
Add the six LUNs to the new storage group and set their Host LUN (Host ID) values.
The blades require the control LUNs to have specific identifiers:
1. Using Navisphere Manager, expand the list under the array name, right-click the
new storage group, and select Properties.
2. Click the LUNs tab and select Not in other Storage Groups in the Show LUNs
field.
3. In the Available LUNs box, select the six LUNs you just created and click the
right arrow to move them to the Selected LUNs box.
