Connecting a CLARiiON CX700 array
Each CLARiiON CX700 SP has four SAN ports. If all of the SAN ports on the array
are already connected to the fabric, you need not change these connections. If the
array has two available ports on each SP, the recommended practice is to cable these
ports to the switches and dedicate them to the VNX gateway system.
If you are using two switches to connect a CLARiiON CX700 array, connect the cables
(Figure 161):

1. Connect SP A port 0 to switch A.
2. Connect SP B port 0 to switch B.
3. Connect SP A port 1 to switch B.
4. Connect SP B port 1 to switch A.
5. Record which SP ports you connected to which switch ports using the “FC/FCoE
cabling worksheet” on page 273.
Note: If you did not use the default SP and FC switch cabling, you must manually select the FC
switch ports the array will use in “Step 2: Install latest File OE on CS 0” on page 139.
