Exploring rotation
1. Create the shape or graph the function to rotate.
2. (Optional) You can optionally create the point to rotate around and
the angle for specifying the angle of the rotation.
3. From the Transformations menu, select Rotation.
4. If you defined the point of rotation and angle of rotation before
activating the tool, start the rotation by clicking the object first,
clicking the point of rotation next, and clicking the angle of rotation
last.
Or,
With the Rotation tool active and no pre-defined point and angle,
specify the point to rotate around and the angle of rotation.
a) Type the opening parenthesis and type the x and y coordinates of
the point to rotate the object around and press
·.
b) Type the measurement to use for the angle of rotation and
press
·.
The object is recreated in the rotated position as defined by the
rotation point and angle of rotation.
Exploring Dilation
1. Create an object to enlarge by dilation.
2. Create a point that is the center for the Dilation.
3. From the
Actions menu, select Tex t and type a value to establish the
size of the Dilation You can also measure an existing length to
establish the sizing for the Dilation
Note: If you specify a large sizing value, you may have to use the
Zoom tools or pan the display to view the dilated object.
