1. To clean the Nellcor Oximax SpO
2
pod, disconnect it from the monitor.
2. Clean the pod with a gauze moistened in enzymatic detergent or a solution of
green tinctured soap and water. Dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.
Trident (NMT) Pod
Clean the pod with a gauze moistened in a soap solution. Dry thoroughly with a lint-
free cloth.

Follow the general instructions on page 29-2 to clean the etCO
2
and etCO
2
/
Respiratory Mechanics pods.
Capnostat Sensor
Clean sensor surfaces, including the sensor windows, with a damp cloth. Never
immerse the sensor or attempt to sterilize it. Dry with a lint-free cloth. Making sure
the sensor windows are clean and dry before you use them.
Flow Sensor
Flow sensors are for single use only and therefore do not require cleaning.
CAUTION:
Do not use organic solvents.
Do not sterilize by steam, heat, radiation or ETO.
Do not use sharp objects.
Make sure that NO liquid enters the pod.
CAUTION:
Do not use any other cleaners or solvents.
Do not autoclave.
