8. 7Targetintercept
The InterceptfeaturecanbeusedtohelprendezvouswithfriendsorforPilotboatsandthe
Coastguardtointerceptvesselsthataretobeboarded.
Tousethe Interceptfeature,selectandholdthetargeticonuntilthemenuisdisplayed,
thenselect
Intercept.TheChartappwillautomaticallyplotadirectcoursetoapoint
whereyourvesselandthetargetwillcross(intercept).
Aninterceptionmarkisplacedatapredictedpointwherebothyourvesselandthe
targetwillcross.
Important:
Whenperforminganindividualinterception,youareplacingyourvesselonacollision
coursewiththetargetvessel.ItWILLbenecessarytochangetoaparallelcourseto
preventacollision.
