Adapting the speed to the
route
Principle
The system can be configured so that with active
distance control, the vehicle adapts the speed
automatically to the route.
For example, the speed is reduced in the
following situations if necessary:
▷ Before turning off.
▷ Before a roundabout.
▷ Before a bend.
▷ In front of an exit junction on motorways or
motorway-like roads.
Safety note
WARNING
The system does not relieve you of your per‐
sonal responsibility to assess the traffic situa‐
tion correctly. Due to system limitations, it can‐
not respond independently and appropriately in
all traffic conditions. There is a risk of accident.
Adapt your driving style to the traffic conditions.
Observe the traffic situation and intervene ac‐
tively if the situation warrants it.

and Assisted Driving notices apply.

Operating requirements
Depending on the situation, different functional
requirements must be met:
▷ Cruise Control and distance control are acti‐
vated.
▷ Driving on a motorway or a similar road.
▷ Navigation system: route guidance is activa‐
ted.
The use of navigation software via Apple Car‐
Play or Android Auto may lead to functional
limitations, for example deviations from in‐
structions given by the navigation system.
▷ The function must be available in the country
in which the vehicle is being driven.

System limits
Depending on the national-market version or
country in which the vehicle is currently being
driven, the function may not be available.
The system does not respond at all or with re‐
strictions to the route ahead when the navigation
system is unable to clearly identify the position of
the vehicle.
The system is not available when driving with a
trailer.
Additionally, the limits of the Cruise Control, dis‐
tance control, Assisted Driving and Speed Limit
Assist systems apply.
Traffic light detection
Principle
The system supports the driver when stopping
at red traffic lights and reminds the driver when
he can continue driving.
