Use the show cable-diagnostics tdr privileged EXEC command to display the Time Domain Reflector
(TDR) results.
show cable-diagnostics tdr interface interface-id

Usage Guidelines TDR is supported only on 10/100/100 copper Ethernet ports. It is not supported on 10-Gigabit Ethernet
ports and small form-factor pluggable (SFP) module ports. For more information about TDR, see the
software configuration guide for this release.
Examples This is an example of output from the show cable-diagnostics tdr interface interface-id command on
a switch:
Switch# show cable-diagnostics tdr interface gigabitethernet1/0/23

interface-id Specify the interface on which TDR was run.

Field Description
Interface Interface on which TDR was run.
Speed Speed of connection.
Local pair Name of the pair of wires that TDR is testing on the local interface.
Pair length Location on the cable where the problem is, with respect to your switch. TDR can only
find the location in one of these cases:
• The cable is properly connected, the link is up, and the interface speed is
1000 Mb/s.
• The cable is open.
• The cable has a short.
