Command History
Usage Guidelines Use this command to see the status of network service modules installed in the switch or in the switch
stack.
When the service module and the switch have the correct software version and software feature set,
service-module-specific features, such as Cisco TrustSec Network Device Admission Control (NDAC)
and the Security Association Protocol (SAP) key exchange for MACsec uplink encryption and Flexible
NetFlow, are available on the service module ports.
• The software on the service module must be compatible with the software on the switch.
• The switch must be running the IP base or IP services feature set. The LAN base feature set does
not support the service module.
If the service module software is not the correct version and feature set, the service module operates in
pass-through mode, which means that the SPF module ports operate like other switch SFP module ports
and cannot run service-module-specific features. You can configure only those features that are
supported on all the other switch ports.
Examples This is an example of output when the software versions are compatible and the service module is
connected and operational:
Switch# show switch service-modules
Switch/Stack supports service module CPU version: 03.00.24
Temperature CPU
Switch# H/W Status (CPU/FPGA) CPU Link Version
