18.5.20 Checking the clutch

Check clutch push rod

for damage and wear.
» If there is damage or wear:
– Change the clutch push rod.

Place clutch push rod

on a flat surface and check for run-out.
» If there is run-out:
– Change the clutch push rod.
–
Check spring retainer

for damage and wear.
» If there is damage or wear:
– Change the spring retainer.
–
Check pretension ring

for damage and wear.
» If there is damage or wear:
– Change the pretension ring.
–
Check spring washer

for damage and wear.
» If there is damage or wear:
– Change the spring washer.
–
Check the contact surface of pressure cap

for damage and wear.
» If there is damage or wear:
– Change the pressure cap.

Check clutch center

for damage and wear.
» If there is damage or wear:
– Change the clutch center.

Check damping rubber pieces

for damage and wear.
» If there is damage or wear:
– Change the damping rubber pieces.
–
Check inner clutch hub

for damage and wear.
» If there is damage or wear:
– Change the inner clutch hub.
–
Check the thrust surfaces of the clutch facing discs in clutch basket
