3-78 ENGINE
ENGINE REASSEMBLY
• Reassemble the engine in the reverse order of disassembly.
• The following steps require special attention or precautionary
measures should be taken.
NOTE:
Apply engine oil to each running and sliding part before reas-
sembling.
CRANKSHAFT
• Install the crankshaft assembly to the upper crankcase.
• Apply a MOLYBDENUM OIL SOLUTION to each crankshaft
journal and bearing lightly.
( MOLYBDENUM OIL SOLUTION
• Insert the thrust bearing with oil groove A facing the crank
web.
BALANCER SHAFT
• Install the balancer shaft on the upper crankcase.
NOTE:
Align the C-ring with the groove of bearing and the bearing pin
with the indent on the bearing.
• Set the balancer shaft so that its punch mark A is aligned
with the punch mark B on the crankshaft.
