MASTER CYLINDER REMOVAL AND
DISASSEMBLY
• Drain the brake fluid. (!9-53)
• Disconnect the front brake light switch lead wire coupler 1.
• Place a rag underneath the union bolt 2 on the master cylin-
der to catch any split brake fluid. Remove the union bolt and
disconnect the brake hose.
$
• Remove the right rear view mirror 3 and master cylinder
assembly 4.
• Remove the front brake light switch 5.
• Remove the nut and bolt 6 and brake lever 7.
• Remove the dust boot 8 and the snap ring 9.
Immediately and completely wipe off any brake fluid
contacting any part of the motorcycle. The fluid reacts
chemically with paint, plastics and rubber materials,
etc. and will damage them severely.
