LEAKAGE ON THE FRONT FORK
BRAKE FAULT
DEFECTIVE BRAKING SYSTEM
Disc brake
Drum brake
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Worn brake pads
• Worn brake disc
• Air in brake fluid
• Brake fluid leakage
• Defective master cylinder cover
• Defective caliper retainer
• Loose coupling screw
• Damaged brake hose
• Oil or grease on brake disc
• Oil or grease on brake pad
• Improper brake fluid level
• Worn brake shoe
• Worn brake drum
• Broken shoe spring
• Oil or grease on brake shoe
• Oil or grease on brake drum
LEAKAGE ON THE FRONT FORK AND MALFUNCTION
OIL LEAKAGE POSSIBLE CAUSE
The internal tube is corroded, bent or damaged
• The external tube is damaged or broken
• Damaged retainer lip
• Improperly installed retainer
• High oil level
• Loose stem setscrew
• Damaged spring seat O-ring
• Loose drain bolt
• Damaged drain bolt gasket
MALFUNCTION POSSIBLE CAUSE
The internal tube is damaged, deformed
or bent
• The external tube is deformed or bent
• Damaged fork spring
• The guide bushing is damaged or worn
The damper stem is damaged or bent
• Improper oil viscosity
• Improper oil level
