Power unit
28. Remove the power unit mounting bolts V
and W, and then remove the power unit
U, gasket X, and dowels Y.
Installing the power unit
Before installing the power unit, make sure to
install the shift rod and shift bracket onto the
bottom cowling. See Shift rod and shift
bracket (9-1).
Do not reuse a gasket or O-ring, always
replace it with a new one.
1. Retract the cowling lock levers (PORT
and STBD). NOTICE: Make sure that
the cowling lock levers are retracted
and the engine stoppers are installed
before installing the power unit. Oth-
erwise, the fuel rails could be dam-
aged.
2. Clean the power unit mating surface, and
then the install the dowels 1 and a new
gasket 2.
3. Hook a lifting harness to the engine
hangers 3, and then suspend the power
unit 4.
4. Install the power unit 4, and then tighten
the power unit mounting bolts 5 and 6
to the specified torque.

42 N·m (4.2 kgf·m, 31.0 ft·lb)
