The DCU-LOSS-FAIL condition occurs when the DCU loss monitored value exceeds the maximum acceptable
DCU loss of the board (OPT-PRE, OPT-PRE-L, 40-SMR1-C, or 40-SMR2-C).
Clear the DCU-LOSS-FAIL Condition
SUMMARY STEPS
1. Verify that the optical fibers connecting the board (OPT-PRE, OPT-PRE-L, 40-SMR1-C, or 40-SMR2-C)
and the DCU unit are clean, correctly plugged in, and not damaged.
2. If the condition does not clear, verify that appropriate DCU unit, according to the installation requirements,
is connected to the board and is correctly working.
3. If the condition still does not clear, verify that the optical power signal is present on the DCU-TX port.
4. If the condition does not clear, log into the Technical Support Website at http://www.cisco.com/cisco/
web/support/index.html for more information or call Cisco TAC (1 800 553-2447).
DETAILED STEPS
Step 1 Verify that the optical fibers connecting the board (OPT-PRE, OPT-PRE-L, 40-SMR1-C, or 40-SMR2-C) and the DCU
unit are clean, correctly plugged in, and not damaged.
Step 2 If the condition does not clear, verify that appropriate DCU unit, according to the installation requirements, is connected
to the board and is correctly working.
Step 3 If the condition still does not clear, verify that the optical power signal is present on the DCU-TX port.

index.html for more information or call Cisco TAC (1 800 553-2447).
DISCONNECTED
Default Severity: Minor (MN), Non-Service-Affecting (NSA)
Logical Object: SYSTEM
The Disconnected alarm is raised when CTC has been disconnected from the node. The alarm is cleared when
CTC is reconnected to the node.
Clear the DISCONNECTED Alarm
