GENERALINFORMATION
Thevehicleisequippedwithself-adjusting,mechanically-expandingshoe,drumbrakesoneachrearwheel.
BRAKESHOEREMOVAL
CAUTION
•Wornordamagedbrakedrumscannotbemachinedtorenishthem.Replaceasnecessary.
1.Disablethevehicle.
2.ElectricVehicle:Disconnectthebatteriesanddischargethecontroller.
GasolineVehicle:Disconnectbatteryandsparkplugwire.
3.Loosenthelugnutsontherearwheels.
4.Lifttherearofthevehicle.
WARNING
•Liftonlyoneendofthevehicleatatime.Useasuitableliftingdevice(chainhoistorhydraulicoor
jack)with1000lb.(454kg)minimumliftingcapacity.Donotuseliftingdevicetoholdvehicleinraised
position.Useapprovedjackstandsofproperweightcapacitytosupportthevehicleandchock
thewheelsthatremainontheoor.Whennotperformingatestorserviceprocedurethatrequires
movementofthewheels,lockthebrakes.
5.Removetheoormat.
