1.Installthenewexhaustgasket(7)ontheexhaustportstuds(Figure22-2,Page22-2).

3.Installthenuts(3),bolt(4),washer(5),andbolts(6).Tightenthehardwarebyhand.
4.Tightenthehardwareinthefollowingorder:
4.1.Tightenthenuts(3)to19ft·lb(26N·m).
4.2.Tightenthebolt(4)to17ft·lb(23N·m).
4.3.Tightenthebolts(6)to17ft·lb(23N·m).
5.Iftheoxygensensor(1)wasremoved,installtheoxygensensor.SeeOxygenSensorInstallation.
6.Connectthebatteryandsparkplugwire.
7.SettheForward/Neutral/Reversecontrol(FNR)toN.
8.SettheMaintenance/OperateswitchtoMAINTENANCE.
9.Putthechocksagainstthewheels.

•Donotoperategasolinevehicleinanenclosedareawithoutproperventilation.Theengineproduces
carbonmonoxide,whichisanodorless,deadlypoison.
10.Starttheengine.
11.Checkforexhaustleaksandcorrectengineoperation.SeefollowingDANGER.
