CAUTION

pressureregulatorfromthebatteryllcoupling,andcallforservice.
3.Whentheredowindicatorballsstopmoving,immediatelypressthegreybuttontodisconnectthehose-end
assemblyfromthebatteryllcoupling(9),andsqueezethedustcover(10)tolightlysecureittothemale
connectorofthebatteryllcoupling(Figure14-6).
4.Placethebatteryllcouplingintothespacebetweenthebatterybucketandthecarbody.Leavingthellcoupling
ontopofthebatterybankortuckedbetweenthebatteriesandthebatterybucketcanresultincouplingdamage.
5.Turnthewaterfaucetoffwhennishedllingthevehicle(s).

Rotatevehicleusage.Itisveryhardonbatteriesifthelastvehiclesinatnightaretherstonesoutinthemorning.
Spreadtheworkloadevenly,givingallvehiclesthesameamountofuse.Thiswillkeepyoureetinbalanceandwill
notoverworkcertainsetsofbatteries.SeefollowingNOTE.
NOTE:Whenvehiclesarebeingrotated,theCDT(ControllerDiagnosticTool)canbeaveryhelpfulservicetool.

DEEP-DISCHARGE
Neverdischargebatteriestothepointthevehiclewillnolongeroperate.Thiswillconsiderablyshortenthecyclelifeof
thebatteries,andmaypermanentlydamagethebatteries.Itispossiblethebatterieswillnotacceptachargeiftheyare
completelydischarged.Thedeeperthedischarge,theharderitisonthebatteries.Forthisreason,itisrecommended
thatelectricvehiclebatteriesbechargedaftereachuse(providedthechargecyclewillnotbeinterruptedandthe
chargerwillbeallowedtoshutoffautomatically).Placingthebatteriesonchargeaftereachusereducesthedepthof
dischargeandprolongsbatterylife.
EARLYEXCESSIVEDISCHARGING
Whenvehiclebatteriesarenew,theydonotreachtheirfullcapacityuntiltheyhavebeendischargedandrecharged
50to70times.Iftheyareexcessivelydischargedearlyintheirlife,theireffectiveservicelifewillbeshortened.It
isadvisabletolimittheuseofanyvehiclewithnewbatteriesforatleasttherstfourweeksandthengradually
increasetheirrange.
