TIREREMOVAL
NOTE:Tiremustberemovedorinstalledfromthevalvestemsideoftherim.
1.Removethetireandwheelassemblyfromthevehicleasinstructedabove.
2.Removethevalvecapandvalvecoreandallowairtoescapefromthetire.
3.Ifpossible,useatiremachinetoremovethetirefromtherim.
3.1.Ifatiremachineisnotavailable,loosenbothtirebeadsbyapplyingpressuretothetiresidewallsand
pushingthetirebeadawayfromtherimangeandintotherimwell(Figure8-1,Page8-2,DetailA).
3.2.Withthevalvestemsideofthewheelup,useatiretooltocarefullystarttheupperbeadovertheedgeof
thewheelrim(Figure8-1,Page8-2,DetailB).
CAUTION
•Toavoiddamagetothetire,donotuseexcessiveforcewhenstartingthebeadovertheedgeoftherim.
4.Whentopbeadisfreeoftherim,pullthebeadfromthebottomsideoftherimupintotheupperpartoftherim
well.Insertthetiretoolunderthelowerbeadasshown(Figure8-1,Page8-2,DetailC)andcarefullyprythe
lowerbeadovertherimange.
5.Oncethelowerbeadisstartedovertherimange,thetirecanberemovedfromtherimbyhand.
