GENERALINFORMATION
Thevehiclesaddressedinthismanualareequippedwithheavy-dutytransaxles.Thetransaxleutilizesinternalgearing
tochangevehicledirection.Becausethetransaxleisusedtoreversevehicledirection,theengine,driveclutch,belt,
anddrivenclutchrotateinthesamedirection;therefore,theengineandclutchesarenotsubjectedtoreversingloads.
Thisreducesmaintenancerequirementsontheengineandclutches.Withthetransaxle,poweristransferredfromthe
enginethroughthedriveclutch,thedrivebelt,thedrivenclutch,andthenthroughthetransaxletothewheels.
SHIFTERLEVER
Ashifterlever,connectedtoashifterarm,isusedtochangethegearstooneofthreeshiftpositions:forward(F),
neutral(N),orreverse(R).BringthevehicletoacompletestopbeforechangingForRdirection.
MAINTENANCE/OPERATESWITCH
WARNING
•WiththeswitchintheMAINTENANCEpositionandtheenginerunning,thevehiclemaymovesuddenly
iftheForward/Neutral/Reversehandleisshiftedoraccidentallybumped.Topreventthis,chockthe
frontandrearwheelsandrmlysettheparkbrakebeforeservicingorleavingthevehicle.
