Ifthecontrollerreceivesasignaltoactivatewalkawaybrakingwhilethevehicleismovingataspeedgreaterthan2
mph(3.2km/h),thecontrollerregistersahighspeedwalkawayfault.
Whatitmeans:Thisisasymptom,notacause.ThekeyswitchwasturnedtoOFFwhilethevehiclewascoasting
fasterthan2mph(3.2km/h).
Whattodo:Mostlikely,thisisduetodrivererror.Ifnot,checkspeedsensoronmotorandkeyswitchforproper
operation.
SPEEDSENSOR
Ifthespeedcontrollerdoesnotdetectpulsesfromthespeedsensorwhilethecontrolleroutputspower(greaterthan
75%armaturePWM)tothemotor,aspeedsensorfaultisdetected.
Whatitmeans:Speedsensorisnotworking.Checkconnection.
Whattodo:Replacespeedsensor.
MAINDRIVERON
Iftheeld-effecttransistor(FET)thatcontrolstheclosingofthesolenoidcontactsisfoundtobeenergizedwhenit
shouldnotbe,amaindriveronfaultisdetectedbythespeedcontroller.
Whatitmeans:ThecontrollerFETcontrollingtheenergizingofthesolenoidison(orenergized)whenitshouldnot
be.Thiscausesmaincontactorstostayengaged.Pin12providesgroundforthesolenoidcoilwhenFORWARD,
REVERSE,KEY ,orFOOTINPUTispresentatthecontroller.IfthegroundcontinuestobepresentonceeitherKEY ,
FOOT,FORWARDorREVERSEINPUTisremoved,maindriveronisdetected.
Whattodo:Replacecontroller.
MAINCOILOPEN
Ifthespeedcontrollerdeterminesthatthesolenoidisnotclosingasaresultofasolenoidcoilfailure,amaincoil
openfaultisdetected.

ohmsresistancereading,adefectivecoilwhichcouldresultinverylowcoilresistance(usuallylessthan40ohms;
