NOTE:Thefrontwheelbearingsarepressedintothespindleandarenotserviceable.Ifexcessivefree-playis
detectedtheentirehubshouldbereplaced.
1.Disablethevehicle.
2.ElectricVehicle:Disconnectthebatteriesanddischargethecontroller.
GasolineVehicle:Disconnectthebatteryandsparkplugwire.
3.Liftthefrontofthevehicle.
4.Trytomovethewheelandhubassemblybackandforthonthespindle.
5.Ifthewheelandhubmoveonthespindle,replacethehubassembly.
FRONTWHEELHUBREMOVAL
1.Disablethevehicle.
2.SettheRun/T ow-StowswitchtoTOW/STOW.
3.Removethehighvoltageinterlockfuse.SeeRemoveTheHighVoltageInterlockFuse.
4.Removethefrontwheels.
5.Removethedustcap(1)(Figure7-27).

6.Removeanddiscardthelocknut(2).
7.Removethehubassembly(3).
8.Inspectthesurfaceofthespindleshaft(4)forsurfacedamage.Thespindleshaftmustbecleanandsmooth.
9.Ifthespindleshafthasseverepittingfromrustorcorrosion,replacethespindleassembly.
