2.ElectricVehicle:Disconnectthebatteriesanddischargethecontroller.
GasolineVehicle:Disconnectthebatteryandsparkplugwire.
3.Lifttherearofthevehicle.
4.Putaoorjackunderthetransaxledifferentialcasingtosupport,butnotlift,thedrivetrain.Raiseitjustenoughto
relievetensionontheshockabsorberswithoutcompressingthem.
5.Removethetireandwheelassemblyonthesidefromwhichthespringistoberemoved.
6.Removethebowtielockingpin(1)andtheclevispin(2)(Figure9-5).
