Valve seat refacing
Clean off any fouling deposits from the valve. Apply Prussian Blue to the valve
and rotate it in its seat using a rubber hose or other similar tool.
Remove the valve and measure the width “X” of the seating face. If width is
greater than 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.), the seat needs to be refaced.
The standard width (measured as shown) of the seating face of the valve is:
x = 0.6-0.7 mm (0.0236 - 0.0275 in.) for INTAKE valves
x = 0.7-0.8 mm (0.0275 - 0.0314 in.) for EXHAUST valves
Valves cannot be ground and must be replaced if damaged.
