Cylinder head installation
For valve installation instructions, please see Section "G".
Always use a new head gasket on assembly: see the "Cylinder head gasket
selection table".
Install the head (1) while supporting the timing chain (2) with a screwdriver.
Tighten the head bolts (3) gradually in a cross pattern to 40 Nm, 4 Kgm, 29 ft/
lb (use a 12 mm wrench).
WARNING
Ret each of the bolts (3) and (3a) in its original position.
Bolt 3 = 119.5 mm long
Bolt 3a = 104.5 mm long
TC
Ret the cap (4) with its gasket (use a 5 mm Allen wrench, Loctite 243, 20 Nm,
2.0 Kgm, 14.5 ft/lb).
TE - TXC
Ret the water temperature sensor (4A) (use a 17 mm ring wrench 5 Nm, 0.5
Kgm, 3.69 ft/lb).
