Engine oil replacement and mesh lters-lter cartridge cleaning or replace-
ment
Drain the oil with WARM ENGINE; proceed as follows:
- Remove the oil ller cap (2).
- The oil sump guard (A) may be left in place. However, the procedure will be
easier with the guard removed.
- Place an oil drain pan under the engine.
- Remove oil drain plug (3) and lter (4), drain the oil and clean the plug mag-
net.
- Wash the lter (4) with petrol and ret it into its seat.
- Unscrew the screws (5) and remove cover (6) together with lter (7).
- Change the lter (7) and ret the assembly making sure to t the Belleville
washer (8) in the correct position.
- Ret the drain plug (3) (25 Nm - 2.5 Kgm - 33.89 ft/lb) and the oil sump guard
(A).
- Fill with the specied quantity of oil.
For recommended oil type and quantity, see "Capacities" table in Section
"A".
Be careful not to touch hot engine oil.
WARNING When assembling lter to cover, make sure to t the lter
oil seal (A) rst onto the cover (6).
