88 Automatic Thermocouple Rewiring
8.2.2 Automatic Thermocouple Rewiring
Thermocouples can be accidentally cross-wired in the mold, where the thermocouple for
one heater becomes connected with a different heater.
The Altanium wiring test does a check of the thermocouple/heater wiring and shows if the
wiring is correct. When the test is complete and if an error was found, the zone with the error
Watt Power for each zone that was calculated from the line voltage and
current readings measured during the test.
Ohm Resistance for each zone that was calculated from the line voltage and
current readings measured during the test.
Wiring The wiring test does a check for correct zone sensor assignment. This test
makes sure that the sensor assignments match. If a sensor assignment
does not match, there will be a failure of cross-talk findings test.
Wiring values are shown as follows:
• Check Mark: shows the zone completed the wiring test
satisfactorily.
• X: shows a failure of the zone wiring test.
Iso. This test calculates cross-talk data that is used to describe if a zone is
correctly isolated from adjacent zones. When heat is applied to a zone,
the adjacent zone temperatures must not increase.
Isolation values are shown as follows:
• 1 = Excellent isolation
• 2 = Good isolation
• 3 = Moderate isolation
• 4 = Fair isolation
• 5 = Poor isolation
E/L The earth leakage test does a check for a earth leakage in each zone. Earth
leakage values are shown as follows:
• Question Mark: shows the earth leakage test for the zone was not
done.
• Check Mark: shows there is no earth leakage for that zone.
• X: shows there is earth leakage for that zone.
B/O The bake out test does a check for moisture in each heater. Bake out
values are shown as follows:
• Question Mark: show the bake out test for that zone was not done.
• Check Mark: shows the zone completed the bake out test
satisfactorily.
• X: shows a failure of the zone bake out test.
Time Time taken to test each zone.
